Victim in Browns Michael Hall Jr. case retains attorney
CLEVELAND (WJW) – The Fox 8 I-Team has learned the victim involved in a domestic violence case against Cleveland Browns rookie lineman Michael Hall Jr. has retained an attorney.
Attorney Eric Long confirmed to the I-Team Thursday that Hall’s fiancé hired him. This new development comes days after we learned the victim provided a second statement to Avon police Friday.

Sources tell the I-Team she retracted her first statement to police. She had originally told officers that Hall allegedly pressed a gun against her temple, threw a baby bottle at her head and dragged her out of the house. We have requested her second statement from Avon Police but our request was denied. Police said the second statement is evidence.
Long’s attorney would not discuss the woman’s statements but said she is not facing any criminal charges.
“These types of cases are always complex and dealing with the criminal system is never easy for anyone involved,” Long said. “My role is to assist my client in providing accurate and truthful information to those who need it so that an appropriate outcome can be reached.”
Hall played in the Browns preseason game on Saturday.

While he still faces the domestic violence case, he has another hearing on Sept. 10.
Hall is being represented by attorney Kevin Spellacy, and he bonded out of jail. The bond was set at $10,000.
Hall, 21, was formerly a player for the Ohio State University and played high school football in Streetsboro. He was selected 54th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.
