Victim shot after reported road rage incident in Ascension Parish

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported road rage shooting that happened Sunday afternoon.

According to the sheriff’s office, detectives were responding to a shooting incident on I-10, near the Ascension Parish and East Baton Rouge Parish line.

The victim told detectives that he and an 18-wheeler driver were involved in a road rage altercation, which led to the victim being shot.

The sheriff’s office said the shooter fled the scene and the victim took himself to a nearby location to contact law enforcement. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is currently stable, according to APSO.
