Victoria’s Secret comeback show: Cher to lead all-women line-up
Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show prepares to make its highly anticipated comeback next month, and for their first fashion show since 2018, the fashion house has announced that American singer and actress Cher will be leading the line-up.
They also confirmed that this year’s comeback in New York on 15 October will mark the fashion show’s first-ever all-women line-up.
Victoria’s Secret wrote on Instagram announcing Cher’s performance: “It’s a woman’s world, so it’s understood that you can’t have a fashion show without the mother of fashion herself — @Cher! We’re beyond excited to announce she will officially be performing at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024 on October 15.”
The post, attached to a video of the 78-year-old superstar singing her 1998 chart-topping hit ‘Believe’, continued: “But she won’t be alone… stay tuned, more announcements are coming to round out our first-ever, all-women lineup.”

Some of the brand’s most famous models - including Gigi Hadid, Tyra Banks, and Paloma Elsesser - are set to strut the runway.
Previous musicians who have provided a live soundtrack for the fashion show include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd and Lady Gaga.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has sparked controversy over the years, with the last time the brand hosted the event in its usual television format being in 2018.
The 2019 show was cancelled not only due to declining viewership but because of backlash to the brand’s lack of inclusivity and perpetuation of unrealistic beauty standards.
At the time, parent company L Brands stated that it wanted to “evolve the marketing of Victoria’s Secret” in the show’s absence.
In May this year, the company wrote on Instagram: “We’ve read the comments and heard you. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is BACK and will reflect who we are today, plus everything you know and love - the glamour, runway, wings, musical entertainment, and more! Stay tuned… it only gets more iconic from here.”
Well, they’ve certainly ticked the iconic box with Cher, who is reportedly in talks to take on the legends slot at the 2025 edition of Glastonbury and will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame this year alongside Kool & The Gang, Ozzy Osbourne and Mary J. Blige.
