VIDEO: Albuquerque motorcyclist behind bars after hours-long chase
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man is behind bars after police said they attempted to pull him over at least 10 times. The suspect drove at high speeds throughout Albuquerque before officers arrested him.
Early Saturday morning, police claimed 23-year-old Coby Anderson drove away from Albuquerque police (APD) officers at speeds over 100 miles per hour on his motorcycle. They stated Anderson was even seen drag racing on the freeway at least three times during the chase. “It’s over bro; it’s over,” one officer yelled before Anderson was arrested after over two hours of fleeing from police.
It all started around midnight Saturday morning when APD officers spotted a yellow Honda motorcycle without a license plate near Montgomery and San Mateo. According to the criminal complaint, they tried pulling him over for the first time around 12:30 a.m. The motorcycle drove away from the sirens, going east on Montgomery all the way to Eubank.
Police alleged Anderson went towards I-40 before air support footage later showed him drag racing at least three different times on I-25.

Anderson seemingly made laps throughout the city, weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds. State police and APD slowed down traffic on southbound I-25 near Comanche, trying to stop the driver. They said Anderson saw police, turned around, and drove into oncoming traffic off the on-ramp.
Finally, he stopped near 2nd and Marquette, left his bike, and started running. Air support narrated his actions, “Real slow speed and coming to a stop. Curbing in curbing in. He’s on foot and running southbound.”
It was a short chase before officers took down Anderson. During the chase, they yelled, “Get down,” before an officer pushed him to the ground. Anderson was placed in handcuffs ending the chase just before 3 a.m.
Anderson is charged with 10 counts of aggravated fleeing an officer. He is also charged with racing on highways and multiple traffic violations. Anderson will be held until he faces a judge.
APD said the focus of the chase was on Anderson, there is no word on the other vehicles that raced with him on the freeway.
