New video: Deputies investigate after handcuffed child attacked by family dog
ASHLAND, Ohio (WJW) – Video released to the FOX 8 I-Team shows investigators sorting out what happened after a family dog attacked a child who had been handcuffed.
The incident happened Aug. 17 in Ashland County.
Prosecutors say the boy’s mother, her boyfriend and uncle handcuffed the boy as a form of discipline since the child refused to clean up after the dog.
The boy somehow slipped when the adults were trying to put him in a chair and the dog attacked, officials said.

Ashland sheriff’s department video shows deputies providing first aid to the child, who was then taken by helicopter to a hospital for treatment. The boy has since been released.
The boy and his sister were visiting their mother, Angelina Williams. Williams lost custody of the two children. They were taken out of her home in 2019.
Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court records show Williams’ home at the time was “unsanitary” and “inappropriate.” Records also state Williams did not take one of the children to medical appointments.
The body camera also shows Williams tell investigators she did not know how the child got injured.
Last week, however, Williams told a judge she did not know handcuffing her son was illegal and she did not mean to cause any harm.

Williams’ bond was set at $300,000. She and the other two co-defendants, Taylor Desiree Marvin-Brown and the owner of the dog, Robert Michalski, remain in jail. All three face endangering children charges.
Marvin-Brown’s bond was set at $250,000 and Michalski’s bond was set at $150,000.
All three are due back in court next month.
