Video shows close call of lightning strike encounter in East County
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Thunder and lightning caught some locals by surprise Thursday as storms rumbled in parts of San Diego County.
Severe thunderstorm warnings and flash flood warnings have been issued for those in southeastern San Diego County for areas from Alpine to Campo.

FOX 5/KUSI viewers submitted photos and videos of the storm. One video shows a viewer recording outside in Ramona when a lighting bolt strikes, followed by a blaring boom. The loud noise scares the viewer who then turns the other way quickly and heads back toward the house.
Other photos show ominous, dark clouds and some lightning bolts in the inland valleys.
