Video: Teen suspects ram Euclid cruiser, lead police on chase
EUCLID, Ohio (WJ)W –- The Fox 8 I-Team obtained security video showing a suspect in a stolen pick up truck ram into the side of a Euclid police cruiser Saturday afternoon.
The officer was pinned inside the cruiser but witnesses helped him to get out of the damaged vehicle.
“These individuals intentionally accelerated a full-size pickup into the side of a marked police car,” said Euclid Police Chief Scott Meyer. He said the officer was taken to the hospital and suffered minor injuries.

After ramming the cruiser, the suspects took off at a high rate of speed and led police on a high speed chase. The chase ended in Cleveland after the suspects crashed into another vehicle. The passenger in that vehicle was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
“After crashing the four suspects got out of the truck and fled,” said Euclid Police Captain Mitch Houser. “One suspect had a gun.”
Houser said all four suspects were arrested. He added that a citizen helped apprehend one of the suspects.
The suspects are all teenagers and are being held in the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Justice Center. They are expected in court soon to face several charges.

“We are not putting up with this lawlessness,” the chief said . “Euclid will not tolerate it, our residents have had enough, I have had enough. This violence, this out of control behavior it simply has got to end.”
