An act from The Voice UK shared a special connection to Sir Tom Jones, with the judge left shocked at the reveal.

The ITV reality show continued on Saturday (September 7) night, with the five coaches – will.i.am, Tom, LeAnn Rimes and Danny Jones & Tom Fletcher – and host Emma Willis presiding over the latest group of stars hoping to make a name for themselves.

After a slew of auditions, Storry – a Toronto native living in London – wowed the four teams and the audience with her unique blend of genres, with the singer taking a risk as she performed her own song.

After all four chairs spun around, Storry took the acclaim of the experts and the crowd, before revealing that she shared a special connection with Tom as she said: “It’s a dream to meet you Tom because in August I actually opened up for you.

“I didn’t get to meet you. I’m so happy that you turned [your chair] around. I was like: ‘Please let Tom turn,” continued Storry, with the legendary singer quipping: “Was I late getting there or what?!”

“You pulled up in your car, [looking] all smooth. But I get it, it was a cold night,” joked Storry, with Tom replying: “Well! I’m glad I finally heard you sing. I'm sorry that I missed you when we worked together. So I want to make up for that – I want to hear what you can do.”

Tom’s pleas to collaborate once again didn’t work, however, with the prospect eventually opting to join the team of Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am after admitting that she “loved” the work of all the experts.

The 13th season of The Voice UK made history as McFly pair Danny and Tom Fletcher became the first duo coach in the show's history, with the team eventually securing an act in the final performance of the night.

The Voice UK airs on Saturdays on ITV1.
