Waggaman man killed in Jefferson Parish crash
JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Troopers with the Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that left a Waggaman man dead in Jefferson Parish on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
The LSP reported the crash happened on the Westbank Expressway at Beechgrove Boulevard around 2:30 p.m.

LSP officials said an initial investigation shows 36-year-old Lance Marshall was driving an Infiniti west on the Westbank Expressway while a Honda was driving south on Beechgrove Boulevard.
Troopers said Marshall reportedly ran a red light and drove into the path of the Honda, causing the Honda to hit the Infiniti.
The Infiniti then drove off the road, hit a concrete business sign and entered a ditch before catching on fire.

Marshall suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Infiniti suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The driver of the Honda was uninjured.
According to the LSP, Marshall was driving “at a high rate of speed.”
LSP officials said the investigation is ongoing, and routine toxicology samples were collected.
