Walk On’s to host scholarship fundraiser event, donate sales in honor of Allie Rice
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Walk On’s Sports Bistreaux location in Ascension Parish will host its third Live Like Allie scholarship foundation give back event in honor of the LSU student killed in 2022.
Allie Rice, 21, was shot and killed off Government Street on Sept. 16, 2022. The Baton Rouge Police Department is still investigating the shooting.
“I am hoping to keep this giveback alive to never forget this young woman. We are donating 10% of all sales for the day on October 1, 2024, to the Live Like Allie scholarship foundation,” said Megan Seneca with Walk On’s.
According to Seneca, there will be inflatables for children and everyone is asked to wear yellow in honor of Rice and her family.
The Live Like Allie Foundation was created to support students and fight against gun violence in Baton Rouge. Donations fund annual scholarships to high school seniors.
Seneca said the Rice family will be out advocating for Allie and gun violence awareness.
Walk On’s is located at 14569 Airline Hwy.
