Wall ISD assistant band director arrested for online solicitation of a minor
A Wall ISD assistant band director was arrested for alleged online solicit of minor, according to a news release.
On March 20, 2024, the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office was contacted by administrative personnel of Wall ISD about several underage female students receiving "sexually explicit communications from an unknown individual," according to allegations in a news release.
The unknown individual was utilizing TikTok and a texting app. The Sheriff's Office started a criminal investigation into the complaint.
"During the subsequent investigation, investigators learned the individual communicated via sexually explicit language describing sexual conduct, attempted to solicit sexually explicit photographs from underage females, and provided a pornographic photographic image to a female child younger than 15 years of age," according to allegations stated in the release.
During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Joshua Alexander Carroll, 33. Carroll has been employed as an assistant band director by the school district since January 2022.
On Tuesday, Carroll was arrested by investigators from the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office.
"A search warrant was conducted for electronic devices under his care at his residence and those located inside Wall High School," the release stated. "Through this investigation, several underage students have been confirmed as having been targeted by this suspect."
He remained in the Tom Green County Jail with no bond as of Tuesday afternoon.
The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office requests anyone who has information or believes their child to have been solicited by Carroll to contact the Criminal Investigation Division of the Sheriff's Office at 325-655-8111.
