Want to go: Swearing-in ceremony set Monday for St. George government officials
ST. GEORGE, La. (BRPROUD) — City of St. George interim government officials will be sworn in during a Monday afternoon ceremony.
According to St. George spokesperson Andrew Murrell, the swearing-in ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, June 10, at Woodlawn Baptist Church on Jones Creek Road. The public is invited to attend.
A news release said the ceremony marks the start of government and officials will “will begin the process of creating all facets of the City of St. George.”
Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry appointed St. George interim Mayor Dustin Yates and Police Chief Todd Morris in May.
“I look forward to the work they will do to ensure St. George is a safe and thriving community,” Landry said after announcing appointments.
