WATCH: Lightning strikes over Oregon’s Cascades Thursday evening

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The skies over the Cascades got a free light show Thursday as lightning shot across the night sky.

Thunderstorms moved across the Cascades not only producing lightning, but also rain. The beneficial moisture will continue to keep the wildfire threat lower even with the lightning. The lightning and reports of thunderclouds rolled through the high terrain for several hours.
