WBRSO: Two arrested in Port Allen shooting that left 1 hurt

WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH, La. (BPROUD) — The West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested two suspects in connection to a shooting in Port Allen on Tuesday, July 23.

WBRSO said deputies responded around 7 p.m. Tuesday to a “shooting investigation in the Rebelle Area of Port Allen.” When they arrived at the scene, deputies found someone who had sustained a gunshot wound that was non-life-threatening, according to WBRSO.

The victim reported he tried to sell an item through an online marketplace when Julius Knox Jr., 23, of Baton Rouge, waved a handgun, robbed him and shot him in the leg, according to WBRSO.

Further investigation disclosed that Madelyn Roshto, 23, of Baton Rouge was present with Knox during the incident, according to WBRSO. She was arrested on Tuesday, but Knox had left the scene prior to the police’s arrival.

Roshto is charged with principal to attempted first-degree murder and principal to armed robbery.

Knox, who was wanted by WBRSO, turned himself in at the West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center on Thursday, July 25. He is charged with attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery.

Knox and Roshto remain in jail, according to WBRSO.
