West Ridge Mall restaurant pauses service
TOPEKA (KSNT) – Local eatery Ta Co. is closing up shop for the time being at Topeka’s West Ridge Mall Monday as it shifts focus to another location in the city.
Fans of Ta Co. will no longer be able to get food from the restaurant at West Ridge Mall’s food court as of July 15 as the location is now closed. Ta Co. made this announcement via social media that it is now focusing more time on a soon-to-open location in downtown Topeka. This closure is a temporary move and might be reversed at another time.
“We are shifting our focus to opening our new downtown location and have decided to temporarily close our mall location effective today. After we open downtown, we’ll figure out very soon when or if we will open the mall location back up. We are excited to embark on our new adventure downtown and warmly invite you to visit us when we open our doors in August!”

Seth Wagoner, CEO/CFO of AIM Strategies, told 27 News following a written information request that all workers at the mall location will be transferring to the downtown spot. He said factors like the labor market and how busy Ta Co. becomes will come into play when determining whether or not they will reopen their restaurant at the mall.
27 News recently visited the Ta Co. location in the downtown area for a sneak peek at the interior. This location will offer customers expanded services including margaritas on tap, rentable event spaces and Mexican food, all available at one of the three floors of the newly constructed restaurant.
Ta Co.’s mall location was initially set up late last year as a pop-up for people to test the food ahead of the main restaurant’s opening. The eatery is owned by AIM Strategies which manages multiple other businesses such as The Iron Rail, Cyrus Hotel and The Pennant in downtown Topeka.
The downtown Topeka Ta Co. location can be found at 735 South Kansas Avenue. It is expected to open in August this year.
