September starting off with a long weekend for many means it's the perfect time to set your watchlist for the month, and catch up before new seasons of our favourite TV shows return. The Perfect Couple - Sept. 5
Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Meghann Fahy, Eve Hewson, Dakota Fanning, Ishaan Khatter, Billy Howle, and Jack Reynor star in the six-episode series The Perfect Couple, based on Elin Hilderbrand's novel.
Amelia Sacks (Hewson) is marrying into one of the wealthiest families in Nantucket, but when a dead body appears on the beach the murder mystery begins.
His Three Daughters - Sept. 20
Following its world premiere at last year's Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Azazel Jacobs' His Three Daughters will be available on Netflix this month.
Carrie Coon, Elizabeth Olsen and Natasha Lyonne play sisters who reunite when their father's health declines significantly. As they navigate his palliative care, they also explore their relationships with each other.

What to watch on Disney+: New TV shows and movies
Tell Me Lies - Sept. 4
Couple Grace Van Patten and Jackson White return for Tell Me Lies Season 2, as the dramatic relationship between Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco continues after their summer breakup. As we head into the second season of the series, creator Meaghan Oppenheimer brings us deeper into the lives of the friends that surround Lucy and Stephen.
Agatha All Along - Sept. 18
After the success of Wandavision Kathryn Hahn returns as Agatha Harkness for Agatha All Along. With Agatha left powerless, she's enticed by a teen to take him along Witches’ Road, filled with a series of trials. Agatha assembles a coven of witches to survive the trials, with witches rewarded if they make it to the end of the road.
The series also stars Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, Aubrey Plaza, Sasheer Zamata and Ali Ahn.

Mothers' Instinct - Sept. 3
Academy Award winners Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway star in the psychological thriller Mothers' Instinct, available to stream on Sept. 3.
Set in the 1960s, Alice (Chastain) and Celine (Hathaway) are friends and suburban neighbours, but after Celine's child has a fatal fall from a balcony, there's a shift in the relationship between these women.
The Tragically Hip: No Dress Rehearsal - Sept. 20
Following its world premiere at TIFF this year, The Tragically Hip: No Dress Rehearsal will be available to watch on Prime Video.
Directed by Mike Downie, Gord Downie's brother, the four-part docuseries explores the brotherhood between the Canadian music legends, featuring unseen performances and archival footage.

What to watch on Crave: New TV shows and movies
Wise Guy: David Chase and The Sopranos - Sept. 7
From Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney, the two-part documentary Wise Guy David Chase and The Sopranos explores the series 25 years after its debut on HBO. Filmed on a replica set of Dr. Melfi’s psychiatrist’s office, we get a look at David Chase's process to create the series, featuring Lorraine Bracco, Edie Falco, and Michael Imperioli, and archival interviews with late actors Nancy Marchand, James Gandolfini, and Tony Sirico.
The Penguin - Sept. 19
Colin Farrell stars in The Penguin, a limited series spinoff of the 2022 film The Batman, with Matt Reeves an executive producer on the project.
As we see in the trailer, the show is set to explore Oswald "Oz" Cobblepot's relationship with Carmine Falcone’s daughter Sofia (Cristin Milioti), now that she's out of the Arkham Asylum.

Slow Horses Season 4 - Sept. 4
Our favourite espionage drama is back, expected to continue to explore the relationship between River (Jack Lowden) and his grandfather, played by Jonathan Pryce, as Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas) steps into the First Desk spot at MI5.

What to watch on Paramount+: New TV shows and movies
Frasier Season 2 - Sept. 19
Dr. Frasier Crane is back with Season 2 of the Paramount+ reboot, starring Kelsey Grammer, as Frasier is expanding his relationship with his son Freddy (Jack Cutmore-Scott).
Harriet Sansom Harris, Rachel Bloom Yvette Nicole Brown, Patricia Heaton, Amy Sedaris, Dan Butler and Edward Hibbert will all appear on Season 2 of the series.
Apartment 7A - Sept. 27
Set in 1965, Apartment 7A is a prequel to Roman Polanski's 1968 horror film Rosemary’s Baby.
Julia Garner plays struggling dancer Terry Gionoffrio. After she has a significant injury, she finds herself "drawn in by dark forces when a peculiar, well-connected, older couple promises her a shot at fame," the official synopsis reads.

What to watch on Hayu: New TV shows
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5 - Sept. 18
Mary Cosby is back as a full-time housewife, reunited with Lisa Barlow, Heather Gay, Angie Katsanevas, Meredith Marks and Whitney Rose for Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5, along with new housewife Bronwyn Newport.
Rose is set to be at odds with many of the women when rumours about her jewellery line start circulating. The friendship between Cosby and Marks is teased to be on "thin ice," while Gay will also be at odds with Cosby as she tries to also strengthen her relationship with Rose.

My First Film - Sept. 6
In Zia Anger's semi-autobiographical film, Vita (Odessa Young) recalls the process of making her first feature film about a young woman who leaves home after getting pregnant, including a near fatal accident during the filmmaking process.
The Fall - Sept. 27
Tarsem Singh's 2006 film The Fall will be able to stream on Mubi from Sept. 27 with a 4K restoration.
The cult classic film stars Lee Pace in the story about a bedridden patient in a hospital in 1920s Los Angeles. He starts a friendship with a young immigrant girl recovering from a fall and tells her a story that allows the girl to travel to exciting places of her imagination.
