Who's running for office? A Pennsylvanian's preview of the 2024 primary ballot.

With the Feb. 13 deadline expired for candidates to file their peititons, the 2024 races are taking shape in Pennsylvania.

Commonwealth voters will select their parties' nominees for the White House, Congress and commonwealth row offices during the primary April 23. The following individuals are running for the Democratic and Republican nods in the races that will appear on statewide ballots, according to the Pennsylvania Department of State's online candidate database.

An asterisk (*) next to the candidate's name means he or she is the incumbent in the race.

Who is running for U.S. Senate in Pa.?

  • *U.S. Sen. Bob Casey Jr. (D-Pa.), son of the former governor of Pennsylvania, first elected as the state auditor general and treasurer prior to joining Congress.

  • Dave McCormick, a Republican who served in the U.S. Army, worked in the George W. Bush Administration and managed hedge funds as CEO of Bridgewater Associates.

  • Joseph Vodvarka, an Allegheny County Republican who has launched prior U.S. Senate bids as Democrat.

Who is running for Pa. attorney general?

  • Keir Bradford-Grey, a Democrat who worked as the chief public defender in Montgomery County and later for the state's largest public defender's association in Philadelphia.

  • Eugene DePasquale, a Democrat who formerly served terms in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and as the state's auditor general.

  • Joe Khan, a Democrat who has worked as a federal prosecutor and a solicitor for Bucks County.

  • State Rep. Jared Solomon (D-Philadelphia), a Democrat and former JAG officer who serves in the Pennsylvania National Guard.

  • Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer, a Democrat who served in the U.S. Army.

  • York County District Attorney Dave Sunday, a Republican U.S. Navy veteran.

  • State Rep. Craig Williams (R-Delaware), a former federal prosecutor and U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran.

Who is running for Pa. treasurer?

  • *Stacy Garrity, a Republican serving her first term in this role.

  • State Rep. Ryan Bizzarro (D-Erie), a former victims' advocate for the Erie County district attorney's office.

  • Erin McClelland, a Democrat who previously ran for U.S. representative in Pennsylvania's 12th Congessional District.

Who is running for Pa. auditor general?

  • *Tim DeFoor, a Republican serving his first term in this role.

  • State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta (D-Philadelphia), the first openly LGBTQ+ person of color elected to the Pennsylvania General Assembly.

  • Mark Pinsley, a Democratic former township commissioner and member of the U.S. Army Reserves who is currently controller for Lehigh County.

  • *President Joe Biden, former longtime Democratic member of Congress from Delaware and vice president to two-term President Barack Obama.

  • U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.), a congressman in his third term.

  • Former President Donald Trump, a Republican businessman and New York City native.

  • Nicki Haley, former Republican congresswoman, governor of South Carolina and U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
