Will This Motivational Beyonce Video Get You Off the Couch?
Beyoncé is just like us. She, too, feels exhausted and throws on a hoodie after a grueling day of work. However, unlike us, she finds the motivation to push forward, do a zillion more hot hair-whips, design another clothing line, and write another album. When we reach that point, on the other hand, we end up on the couch in a onesie.
The singer/designer/mother/wife just released a video to launch Ivy Park’s fall collection explaining exactly where she finds the motivation to keep moving. “I know my body can learn how to bend and not break. I know what it’s capable of. I’ve seen it perform miracles,” she says before the video cuts to a clip of the birth of her daughter, Blue Ivy.
“Even when my throat is burning, my lungs feel like their drowning, sweat is stinging my eyes, my feet feel like they’re gonna explode, when I’m about to give up, I picture that one person I love more than anyone,” Beyoncé says in the video while clips of her working out and dancing, and images of Blue Ivy, Jay-Z and her mom flit across the screen. “I picture them wherever they are in the world and I imagine myself running towards them…they’re shouting my name…and I make it to the end.”
Maybe, if we watch it enough times, we will find that same motivation. Nope. Still on the couch.
Well, we’re still going to watch it a ton because she looks bangin’ and we’re stoked about her latest athleisure developments, some of which are featured in the video. Maybe this time, we’ll actually work out in the clothes instead of just wearing them for lounging or strutting on the street pretending we’re Beyoncé.
The line landed in stores and online on Wednesday and features the same clean-cut lines and bold print logos as the first, but a few warm-weather additions, like a camo-print parka, an oversize denim jumpsuit, and a cropped hoodie that are already in our shopping carts.
