Williamsville man sentenced on grand larceny, petit larceny charges

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Williamsville man was sentenced to 3 1/2 to 7 years in prison Wednesday morning in connection with four separate shoplifting incidents in 2023, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said.

Officials said David J. Miller, 60, stole clothing, high-end eyeglasses frames and other merchandise from two different retailers in the Town of Clarence on four separate occasions between June 9, 2023 and June 20, 2023.

The stolen merchandise was not recovered from the first three crimes, resulting in a total loss of $12,916 to the two retailers. Miller has since paid full restitution to the victims. The stolen property was recovered and returned to the retailer following the fourth incident.

Miller pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree grand larceny and petit larceny in April of 2024.
