Officials say that since 1994, Endangered Resources license plates have been playing a critical role in funding DNR conservation work for over 400 wildlife and 300 plant species that are listed as endangered, threatened, or special concern.

Throughout the entire department, officials work with volunteers and partners to locate, protect, and manage these native plants, animals, and Wisconsin’s natural communities.

The $25 rebate helps more people support rare species and unique places in Wisconsin while showing that support on their car or truck.

Drivers who have already renewed their 2024 registration are still able to switch to an Endangered Resources license plate and take advantage of the $25 rebate.

Registration payment does not need to be submitted again and the renewal month would stay the same but the total cost for the new plate this year would be $15.
