Wisconsin man arrested after suspicious powder found in mailboxes
WISCONSIN (WFRV) — A 29-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after authorities responded to reports of suspicious white powder found in two mailboxes in Wisconsin.
According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, the first report came on Oct. 15, shortly before 11:15 a.m., from a resident on County Highway Q in the township of Dodgeville. A deputy was dispatched to investigate. Just over an hour later, a second report was made regarding a similar incident on E. North St. in the city of Dodgeville, prompting a Dodgeville Police officer to respond.

In both cases, law enforcement removed the bags and conducted tests, confirming the presence of fentanyl and cocaine.
An investigation by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, Dodgeville Police Department, and the Richland-Iowa-Grant Drug Task Force led to the arrest of Tyler Marking, 29, of Dodgeville. He was taken to the Iowa County Jail on charges including two counts of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, two counts of delivering cocaine, two counts of delivering fentanyl, possession of psilocin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Marking has not been formally charged as of Oct. 16, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.
Authorities indicated that the incidents appear to be targeted, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. No additional details were provided.
