Wisconsin man charged for robbing Kwik Trip at gunpoint after his card declined
WHITEWATER, Wis. (WFRV) – A 25-year-old Wisconsin man has been formally charged in connection to robbing a Kwik Trip while brandishing a handgun back in early January.
According to the Whitewater Police Department, shortly before 2:45 a.m. on January 3, officers responded to a Kwik Trip in the city of Whitewater for a report of an armed robbery.

Preliminary investigations reveal the suspect, later identified as Noel J. Gonzalez, attempted to purchase an item inside the store, but his card was declined after multiple attempts.
When employees wouldn’t allow Gonzalez to leave without paying for the product, he allegedly reached into his waistband and brandished a firearm.
Gonzalez reportedly made threatening statements toward the Kwik Trip employees, even saying that he was going to “start spraying.”
Fearing what Gonzalez might do, employees told him to take the item and leave. Gonzalez stole the item and left the Kwik Trip without further incident.
At the same time officers were investigating the armed robbery, the Whitewater Police Department received a separate phone call of an incident involving a male who had been drinking alcohol and was being disorderly toward the caller. It was advised that the suspect was also in possession of a gun.
After officers arrived at the secondary location, they recognized the suspect involved in the secondary call was Gonzalez, who was accused of robbing the Kwik Trip.
During the secondary incident, Gonzalez was taken into custody without incident, and a handgun was recovered at the scene.
Court records show that Gonzalez is charged with armed robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, and disorderly conduct with a domestic abuse modifier. He’s expected to return to the Walworth County Courthouse on January 29.
