Wisconsin man turns himself in day after shooting that hospitalized one

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WFRV) – A 34-year-old Wisconsin man turned himself in to the authorities on Monday following a shooting incident that left one hospitalized.

According to a release, on Sunday, September 1, shortly after 2:30 p.m., officers with the La Crosse Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 2100 block of George Street.

During the initial investigation, authorities determined that an altercation occurred between three individuals and one person was shot. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

On Monday, Ryder Ott, 34, turned himself into the La Crosse County Jail for the shooting incident. He was subsequently arrested for attempted first-degree intentional homicide and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The La Crosse Police Department says this was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the community. Officers are continuing to investigate this incident.
