A woman is dead and a man is in custody after a suspected domestic violence incident in Wood County

AUBURNDALE ? A woman is dead after a suspected domestic violence incident Sunday morning in Wood County, and a 22-year-old man is in custody in connection with the incident.

Wood County Dispatch received a call about an active disturbance at about 7:52 a.m. Sunday at the corner of East McMillan Street and Rock Inn Road, in the town of Auburndale, according to a news release from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.

Wood County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Marshfield Police officers and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene. When they arrived, they found the woman in the road on East McMillan Street. She was deceased, according to the release.

This is being investigated as a domestic violence incident resulting in the death of the woman, according to the release. No additional information information will be released at this time, the Sheriff’s Office said.
