Woman dies in hospital one day after deadly Grandview motorcycle crash

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Grandview Police Department confirmed that another person has died after a motorcycle crash Friday morning in Grandview, Missouri.

According to police, 31-year-old Andrea Licata, the passenger of the motorcycle, died Saturday morning in the hospital after suffering from critical injuries in the crash.

The driver of the motorcycle, 33-year-old Cody Sloat, was pronounced dead at the scene on Friday morning, according to law enforcement.

Grandview police said the cause of the crash is still being investigated, however, initial reports said it could have occurred after the motorcycle used a construction zone to pass other drivers on southbound Interstate 49, near 140th Street.

Neither Sloat nor Licata were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, police said.
