Woman facing attempted murder charge after shooting in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman accused of attempted first-degree murder in connection to a shooting in Baton Rouge, as well as other charges in connection to a vehicle burglary.
Kalia Lebeuf, 20, of Baton Rouge, was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Friday, July 19. She is charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated criminal damage to property and one count of illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities.
Officers responded to a shooting around 11:17 p.m. on South 14th Street on June 7. According to an affidavit, the victim was not injured, but multiple vehicles were damaged by gunfire. The victim stated that he saw several unknown persons breaking into his mother’s vehicle. The victim was shot at as he tried to escape the scene.

The affidavit stated that multiple partygoers who were attending an event at a nearby hall parked their vehicles in a lot of a business located on South 14th Street. Around 11:12 p.m., three suspects exited a white Honda Pilot, while the other suspect stayed in the vehicle. The suspects began to pull on vehicle doors inside of the lot, according to an affidavit.
According to an affidavit, two of the suspects, one of which was Lebeuf, broke into the passenger’s side of a black truck and crept inside through the window. Around 11:16 p.m., the victim pulled in front of the same lot and watched the suspects break into his mother’s truck.
The victim then screamed out to the suspects. The suspects then got back into the vehicle. According to an affidavit, while the victim was trying to alert a police officer, the driver of the Honda Pilot fired shots at the victim. The gunshots hit the victim’s car and two other parked cars.
Arrest documents said the “front passenger of the Pilot also fires shots from the vehicle before the Pilot flees the scene.” According to an affidavit, officers gathered multiple .45 and .40 caliber spent casings from the scene.

Lebeuf was also involved in a vehicle burglary that took place at a convenience store in the 9400 block of Greenwell Springs Road a few hours later, around 3 a.m. on June 8. Detectives were able to review a video that showed the burglary was committed by five suspects in a white Honda Pilot, according to an affidavit.
The footage also showed the suspects were wearing the same clothes “observed on video footage of the shooting.” According to an affidavit, three of the suspects were identified including Tyler Hoggan, Trenton Neal and Lebeuf.
Investigators said the two remaining suspects are unidentified.
Lebeuf remains in jail and no bond has been set.
