Woman fatally shot in French Quarter
NEW ORELANS (WGNO) — Officers with the New Orleans Police Department are investigating a shooting that left a woman dead in the French Quarter on Sunday, June 30.
The NOPD reported officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 700 block of St. Peter Street around 4:57 a.m., where they found a woman suffering with a gunshot wound.
Man accused in death of Tulane officer sentenced to life
She was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
According to the NOPD, the woman was shot at while sitting inside her car.

The Orleans Parish coroner later identified the victim as 43-year-old Kristie Thibodeaux.
The investigation is ongoing.
