Woman injured after shooting in Baton Rouge apartment complex

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a reported shooting on Monday evening.

According to a Baton Rouge Police spokesperson, around 7 p.m. in the 1900 block of Brightside Drive, officers were responding to a reported shooting at an apartment complex.

Police say an adult female and an adult male got into an altercation inside the apartment. During the fight, the male shot the female several times. He fled the scene.

The woman was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the police.

No further information was immediately available.

This is an ongoing investigation.
