Woman killed in crash on Creek Road in Batavia

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A woman was killed in a crash on Creek Road near Lehigh Avenue in Batavia on Saturday night, according to police.

Police responded to the area just after 9:35 p.m. Saturday for a downed telephone pole. Initial investigation showed that the woman, identified as 24-year-old Tanysha Thomas of Caledonia, was driving north towards the city when she hit the telephone pole and then a tree, causing the car to roll over and then catch on fire.

Police said Thomas was driving a white SUV. She was the only person in the car.
