“At this point, we could lose everything. We don’t live in a perfect world, we get that. We want to do what we can to get out and vote to protect most vulnerable in our community,” said Haywood.

The group envisions bringing more awareness through its brand-new voter engagement center in Central City.

“We want to be a source of good, accurate, correct information,” she said.

Helping folks register to vote, getting them to the polls and giving them information about the candidates are all part of the plan.

“Continue to fight for the world we want to live in,” said Haywood.

The new voter engagement center isn’t the only way the group stays engaged with the community. It also hits the streets in its van, which it uses to canvass to get the word out about voting.

“We’ll have volunteers to come in and talk to people about their concerns.

At Women with a Vision, the organization recognizes how important this upcoming presidential election is shaping up to be.

“We’re seeing the energy, the synergy around this election. We feel it’s important to get people encouraged. We believe that voting is harm reduction. Go vote,” said Haywood.
