YSL Woody has found himself at the center of controversy and courtroom drama, as the state’s “star witness” seemingly trolled the presiding judge regarding his potential testimony against Young Thug.

Earlier this week, YSL Woody, real name Kenneth Copeland, appeared in court and was questioned about his plans to cooperate with the prosecution and testify on their behalf. Upon being asked his intentions by Judge Paige Reese Whitaker, Woody responded with a dismissive, “Depends on how I wake up,” casting further doubt on his credibility as a witness.

Woody has publicly criticized the prosecution on multiple occasions, alleging that he was coerced into cooperating against Young Thug and YSL in his initial testimony.

Complicating matters, Woody has recently dismissed two attorneys, as he claims that he was misled regarding his cooperation and testimony in the case. “You waited until Friday and did this,” Woody reportedly told his former attorney. “I done told you every day before Friday came that I was pleading the Fifth… Y’all done me wrong. Y’all just hold me in the jail, don’t let me get no PIN number, no nothing.”

During the hearing, the prosecution was informed that Woody will have to decide whether he will testify against Young Thug prior to taking the stand at his next court appearance due to his remarks regarding the circumstances surrounding his previous testimony. The defendant faces potential contempt charges if he fails to testify as required.

Woody is set to take the stand again on Monday, Aug. 12.

Woody’s nonchalant behavior is just the latest curveball to surface in Young Thug’s YSL RICO case, which is now the longest running trial in Georgia history. In the past month, two judges have either been removed or recused themselves from the case, with the second judge assigned to the trial stepping down due to a romantic relationship between her former courthouse deputy and a defendant in the case.
