Dad’s Touching Surprise for Daughter’s Wedding Day
Forget a simple wedding toast: We can hardly think of a sweeter story than the one about British dad John Butcher, 50, who spent 200 hours taking singing lessons (in secret) so he could serenade his daughter, Natalie, 26, on her wedding day.

Butcher, who says he was never able to carry a tune before his lessons, belted out his own tuneful version of the Elvis hit, “Always On My Mind,” in front of an awestruck room filled with 100 friends and family.
“Everyone thought the DJ had mucked up, but then I got up and started singing,” Butcher told the Daily Mail. “People were laughing and crying and standing up waving their hands.”

Turns out, only John’s son Chris, 26, knew how much work went into the performance.
“We had the most amazing day which was finished off perfectly with the surprise of my dad singing,” Natalie told the Daily Mail. “Everyone seemed to be as blown away as I was and it is something I will never forget.”
The video has been streamed more than 11,000 times on YouTube since being posted late last month.

It’s not the first time a dad has planned something special for his daughter’s wedding day.
In 2011, a spirited wedding dance went viral, with more than 9.7 million people watching. Last year, nearly 400,000 streamed a father-daughter duo’s moves that spanned decades worth of music. And after one bride’s father passed away, she danced with several family members in a touching video that garnered more than 13 million views.
