'Did You Have a Nap Today?' Video Will Make You Smile
Big brother Wesley Carr is getting big laughs for his straight talk with cranky sister Charlotte, in a video that was featured on America’s Funniest Home Videos on Sunday. The 5-year-old’s adorable exchange with his then 2-year-old sidekick not only won his family $10,000 on the show, it’s raked in a staggering 1.26 million views since it was posted on the series’ Facebook page on Monday.

"Did you have a nap today?" the boy asks his wailing little sis at the dining table in their Canal Winchester, Ohio home. "I didn’t!" she sobs. Then, Wesley calmly schools the tot, "Well, you need one."

"He’s kind of an old soul at heart," dad Jared tells Yahoo Parenting about the kindergartener, adding that the siblings have always gotten along well. "If Charlie gets in trouble, Wes will come over and console her. He’s just a sweet kid."

Tenderness was exactly what the overtired preschooler needed that night when dad says everything set her off. The fuss in the footage was “a battle over what was going to be served for dinner,” he told host Tom Bergeron, revealing that chicken soup was on the menu. “And nothing I brought her was going to make her happy.”
That’s why Jared says he grabbed his phone to record the drama. “The situation was almost so bad it’s funny,” he explains. “My wife [Bethany] was at a friend’s house and I shot it to show her later; to be like, ‘You won’t believe this.’ I could have served Charlie a Hershey chocolate bar for dinner and she wouldn’t have wanted it.”
Perhaps the larger sum of money the family now stands to win will cheer up Charlotte. The Carr’s video —
which beat footage of a girl brought to tears while receiving a puppy, as well as another video featuring a dog afraid of a ball — is now competing for America’s Funniest Home Video’s $100,000 pot. “Never in a million years did I expect this to catch on,” says the father. “I just thought it was cute.”
