Kim Kardashian is a pro at stirring the pot, so it’s no surprise that her latest tweet and Instagram post has angered moms everywhere.

On Wednesday, Kardashian posted this popular meme about motherhood:

She captioned it, “Shoutout to all of the moms!!! Hardest, most rewarding & best job in the entire world! This couldn’t be more true!”

But the public pounced for the seemingly out-of-touch sentiment. @Jessica_adams24 tweeted, “Yes and your maids and [nannies] get paid well!” And @Jenny_kayy chimed in: YOU DID NOT JUST POST THAT!!! a cook? a maid? An alarm clock?!!! Does North even see you? Never laughed so hard.”

Recently, Kardashian has taken a series of hits in regard to her mothering skills, specifically for her habit of bringing 19-month-old daughter North West to events where she’s expected to sit still for long periods of time. On February 12th, during father Kanye West’s “Yeezus for Adidas” fashion show, the toddler had an epic meltdown while seated front row. Kardashian whisked her backstage but not before the crowd raised eyebrows for the disturbance. A few days later, North had a second tantrum at another fashion show when she spied a stuffed monkey in the audience that she wanted.

A few weeks prior, in a nod to supermodel Gisele’s 2013 “multitasking mama” breastfeeding shot, Kardashian posted a photo to Instagram that depicted her snuggling with a sleeping North while getting her hair and makeup done. “Quick glam and a snuggle,” the reality star captioned the photo, which was deemed both “sweet” and “lame” by commenters.

Here’s the thing: No one’s version of motherhood looks exactly the same. Some parents work full-time and employ nannies or daycare providers; others are forced to forgo their careers because childcare is too expensive. Many have the luxury of staying home because their partner is the breadwinner or work part-time. Single parents can work multiple jobs and rely on relatives to provide daycare.

And some are so super rich that they can do whatever they please — create flexible schedules or bring their children to work. That type privilege doesn’t dilute one’s experience as a mother. Admittedly, the idea of Kardashian shuttling North around to playdates or cleaning diaper blowouts does seem far-fetched but motherhood is not one-sized-fits all and each experience has its share of challenges.

If Kardashian believes her motherhood experience is universal, so be it. The less stock we place in what celebrities say, the happier we’ll be.
