The GOP battle for votes in Nevada
Republican presidential candidates took their last-minute appeals for support across Nevada, jockeying for votes with unabashed critiques of their White House rivals.
Frontrunner Donald Trump delivered a broadside against his competitor Ted Cruz, telling thousands in Las Vegas he thinks the Texas senator is “sick.”
“There’s something wrong with this guy,” said Trump.
For his part, Cruz spent a significant amount of time on Feb. 22 seeking to explain the ouster of his spokesman for tweeting a story that falsely accused White House hopeful Florida Sen. Marco Rubio of insulting the Bible.
Meanwhile, establishment heavyweights continued to back Rubio, with many saying they see him as the candidate who can unite a disharmonious Republican Party. (AP)
