Daphne softball, Alabama commit Vic Moten wins ASWA Miss Softball award

JACKSONVILLE — Daphne's Vic Moten is the Alabama Sports Writers Association Miss Softball award winner in 2024.

Moten was named the Miss Softball winner during the ASWA banquet at JSU Stadium. She is an Alabama signee and will join the Crimson Tide this fall.

Moten had 22 shutouts this season with 11 no hitters and three perfect games, tied for the state lead. She held a 0.46 ERA and let opponents hit .079 on her. She scored 63 times and hit .407 with an .800 slugging percentage. She was the Class 7A Player of the Year.

She leads a group of players of the year including Athen's Morgan Stiles in Class 6A, Jasper's Missy Odom in Class 5A, Orange Beach's Ava Hodo in Class 4A, Opp's Reese Cauley in Class 3A, Wicksburg's Natalie Cole in Class 2A, Skyline's Olivia Treece in Class 1A and Glenwood's Anna Grace Griggs holding it down in AISA.
