Diego Sia shines and five Milan players involved as Italy U19s draw with England

Some good news came from Croatia last night as a Milan-inspired Italy U19 team earned a 2-2 draw in a friendly match against England, with Diego Sia netting a goal.

Italy found themselves two goals to the good when Fini Seydou cut in on his left foot to open the scoring and then Milan Futuro star Sia doubled the advantage with five minutes to go until the break.

England roared back from a two-goal deficit, making it 2-1 when Nwaneri scored just before the interval. He then missed a penalty to equalise, the substitute Leo Black completed the comebacl.

The Azzurrini side featured the likes of Vittorio Magni, Mattia Liberali and Sia – starters in the game – in addition to Adam Bakoune and Emanuele Sala who were both on the bench. It is yet another example of how bright the future is in terms of building an Italian core in the not too distance future.

Sia hit the crossbar in the 30th minute before he got his goal and was the stand-out player. The team, coached by Alberto Bollini, will next face their German counterparts on Saturday 7 September. The next games are as follows:
