‘We expect to win the Super Bowl this year’: Packers training camp kicks off with fans hopeful for upcoming season
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – In anticipation of the return of the DreamDrive training camp bike experience for 2024, fans were gathered at Lambeau Field as early as 8:00 a.m. Monday.
Xavier and his family have driven up from their home for three years to participate in the Bike event and attend the Packers Training Camp.

“The first year we came, Clay Walker picked his bike,” said Xavier’s mom. “Three-and-a-half hours we made the trek last night and we’re here, we’re gonna be here for a couple of days and just soaking up Lambeau Field.”
What the Pittsley family wasn’t expecting for day one of Training Camp was missing out on seeing Jordan Love back on the field with his teammates.
When Reed Ernstrom from Utah learned that Love would not be practicing during Training Camp, he was surprised, but that didn’t stop him from showing his support for the rest of the team.
He told Local 5’s Samantha Petters he was disappointed he couldn’t watch the “star quarterback” back in action but was happy to take his grandson to the practice for the first time.
“I did not know that I wasn’t aware,” stated Ernstrom. “It makes me feel great for the rest of the Packers. We love the whole team, not just Jordan Love, and we hope they come to an agreement, and we expect to win the Super Bowl this year!”
Andy Short from Virginia was also shocked to learn Love would not be practicing with his teammates but said he felt lucky just being able to watch the other players perform ahead of the season.
“I just wish we could see Jordan Love out there playing, but I understand it’s a contract year and everything, so it’s good to be here,” he stated.
Short said he looks forward to seeing how the group plays together with all the new additions and changes to the team.
“Josh Jacobs, Xavier McKinney is going to be awesome, Bama boys, that’s my college team, so I’m looking forward to watching them play,” he beamed. “I think this year will be different. I think some of the guys are older, [but] Jordan is more experienced now. I think it will be a lot better.”
Meanwhile, Packers shareholders from around the world gathered Monday afternoon at Lambeau Field to hear the latest from team management.

This is the first time the meeting was held on the same day as the opening of the training camp.
