Former Clarendon boss named new Tascosa baseball coach

Amarillo ISD Director of Athletics Brad Thiessen announced Wednesday that Tascosa assistant baseball coach Yancy Molloy will be the new head baseball coach at the school. Molloy will take over for Jason Patrick, who recently resigned after 24 years leading the program.

Molloy, a native of Memphis, Texas, has had head coaching stints in Sayre, Oklahoma and at Clarendon, where he guided the Broncos to three consecutive playoff berths and a regional semifinal appearance in 2022. His most recent job was as an assistant at Tascosa.

“We are delighted that coach Molloy has agreed to take over the program at Tascosa High School,” Thiessen said in a statement. “His track record at Clarendon was impressive, and he has made a significant impact in the baseball program as an assistant this year. The players respond positively to his coaching style. Consistently, we received positive feedback about Yancy, highlighting his remarkable respect despite his relatively young age as a coach.”
