Feb. 26—Henderson records double eagle
Danny Henderson made a double-eagle Wednesday at the par-five 11th hole at Pinecrest Country Club in Lumberton. Henderson hit driver off the tee and driver on his second shot. Ashton Woods, Jason Dial, Larry Holmes and Calvin Hammonds were witnesses.
Fairmont Golf Club news
Greg Dial and Mike Graham were the winners in this week's Senior Shootout at Fairmont Golf Club with a four-stroke victory over Tommy Lowry and James Smith. The second flight was won by Al Almond and Kirk Hamilton with Atlas Warwick and Bob Antone coming in second place. David Evans and Jerry Long were the third-flight winners followed by Ronnie Chavis and Joe Locklear. The fourth-flight winners were Bucky Beasley and Richard Cook with Kenneth Cox and David DeCarlo taking second. The fifth-flight winners were Les Jordan and David Strickland with Rick Baxley and Clifton Rich coming in second place. Richard Lowery, Ronnie Chavis, Gene Brumbles, and Ray Lowry were closest to the pin winners.
The next Senior Shootout will be played Tuesday morning with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
Top rounds posted this week include: Mitch Grier with a 70, Danny Church 73, Jimmy Green 73, Bradley Hamilton 73, Brook Gehrke 74, James Cox 74, Wayne Callahan 75, David Sessions 75, Bob Antone 76, Eddie Williams 76, Donald Arnette 76, Butch Lennon 76 and Brian Davis 77.
Pinecrest Senior Shootout
Greg Dial and Hartley Oxendine won the championship flight of this week's Senior Shootout at Pinecrest Country Club in Lumberton with a round of 64; they won by one stroke over runners-up Ricky Harris and Larry Lynn Locklear.
Warren Bowen and Bucky Beasley were the first-flight winners with a 69, one stroke ahead of Pandora Carter and Al Wall.
Closest to the flag winners were Leroy Gautier, Johnny Hunt and Darrel McGiver.
The next Pinecrest Senior Shootout will be held Thursday with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
