What was Indiana football's first-team offense and defense against Ohio State?

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football didn’t just keep the starting quarterback a secret before the season opener against Ohio State.

The Hoosiers didn’t release a depth chart and coach Tom Allen was hesitant to give away much of anything.

They couldn’t hide on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

Brendan Sorsby won the most talked about position battle at quarterback, but here’s a look at the rest of Indiana’s starters on Saturday:

Indiana's first-team offense against OSU:

  • Quarterback: Brendan Sorsby, R-Fr.

  • Running back: Josh Henderson, Sr. AND Jaylin Lucas, So.

  • Wide receiver: Donaven McCulley, Jr.; Cam Camper, Sr.

  • Tight end: Bradley Archer, R-Sr.

  • Offensive line: LT Carter Smith, R-Fr.; LG Mike Katic, R-Sr; C Zach Carpenter R-Sr.; RG Kahil Benson R-Sr.; RT Matthew Bedford

Indiana's first-team defense against OSU:

  • Defensive end: Andre Carter, R-Sr.

  • Defensive tackle: LeDarrius Cox Jr, R-Sr.; Philip Blidi, Sr.

  • Bull: Lanell Carr Jr., Sr.

  • Linebacker: Aaron Casey, R-Sr.; Jacob Mangum-Farrar, R-Sr.

  • Cornerback: Nic Toomer, R-Jr., Jamari Sharpe, R-Fr.

  • Safety: Josh Sanguinetti, R-Sr.; Louis Moore, Sr.

  • Husky: Noah Pierre, R-Sr.

Indiana released a tentative depth chart before the season-opener during Allen’s tenure up until this year. Michigan was the first team in the conference to stop releasing a two-deep when Jim Harbaugh took over and the majority of conference now follows suit.
