According to a report by La Provence, Olympique de Marseille have made the signing of Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood (22) their top priority this summer after landing Lilian Brassier (24) and Isma?l Koné (22).

The club are reportedly focused on signing a left-footed forward who is capable of playing on the wings as they look to improve on an attack that had relied heavily upon Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (35) last season. Marseille have become convinced that Greenwood fits that bill, with the Englishman available from Manchester United for €40 million after he spent the year on loan at Getafe.

Greenwood was put on the transfer market after his parent club decided against reincorporating him into the squad following a court decision to discontinue the case against him for attempted rape, assault, and coercive control. The trial was unable to proceed after key witnesses withdrew their cooperation. The player denied the allegations made against him.
