Reports: Carter expected to miss remainder of MLB regular season
ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (WJHL) – Elizabethton native Evan Carter will likely not return to the Texas Rangers lineup in the 2024 regular season due to a lingering injury, according to a CBS Sports report.
Rangers General Manager Chris Young made the announcement on Tuesday. The team is classifying the injury as lower back tightness, and Young explained that the outfielder needs more rest, according to the report.

Carter has not played since a May 26 contest at the Minnesota Twins. He turned in a .188 batting average in 45 games this season before suffering the injury.
Texas currently sits on the outside of the MLB playoff picture, trailing the Seattle Mariners by 4.5 games in the American League West Division.
