Manchester United have been credited with an interest in Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries.

The 28-year-old has reportedly put his contract negotiations with the Serie A outfit on hold, despite his deal expiring in 2025.

This presents United with a good opportunity to initiate a concrete move for Dumfries who appears to have his heart set on a Premier League move.

Despite the links with the Netherlands international, journalist Fabrizio Romano says Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui remains the top priority target for manager Erik ten Hag.

However, they will need to offload Aaron Wan-Bissaka before completing a move for Mazraoui, which is proving to be difficult at the moment.

The former Crystal Palace looked set to join West Ham United after he agreed personal terms with the club.

But the Hammers have now turned their focus to Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier after failing to agree a fee with the Red Devils.

The Manchester giants want up to £18m for the right-back, but West Ham are unwilling to offer more than £10m.

United have been looking to sell Wan-Bissaka this summer as he has entered the final year of his contract.

Due to their budgetary constraints, they cannot complete a deal for Mazraoui without first offloading the 26-year-old.
