Cape Coral High School hosted a ceremony Tuesday, March 29, 2022 to retire former Seahawk Shane McClanahanÕs jersey number. McClanahan graduated from Cape in 2015 and now plays for the Tampa Bay Rays Major League baseball team. A few hours prior to the ceremony, Rays manager Kevin Cash announced McClanahan would be the Opening Day Starter of the Ray's 2022 season.
