There's finally a plot for 'Space Jam: A New Legacy,' will you pay to see LeBron James on the big screen?

In the original “Space Jam,” Michael Jordan battled super powered aliens who stole talent from the best NBA players around. In the second “Space Jam” movie, LeBron James’ opponents will be a little more modern.

A plot summary for “Space Jam: A New Legacy” was finally released Monday, and now we have an idea of what James, Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes will face when the film is released in 2021. Instead of aliens, James will be taking on a rogue artificial intelligence.

When LeBron and his young son Dom are trapped in a digital space by a rogue A.I., LeBron must get them home safe by leading Bugs, Lola Bunny and the whole gang of notoriously undisciplined Looney Tunes to victory over the A.I.'s digitized champions on the court: a powered-up roster of basketball stars as you've never seen them before. It's Tunes versus Goons in the highest-stakes challenge of his life, that will redefine LeBron's bond with his son and shine a light on the power of being yourself. The ready-for-action Tunes destroy convention, supercharge their unique talents and surprise even "King" James by playing the game their own way.

That information was released via Microsoft, which is holding a contest for fans to design an arcade-style video game based on “Space Jam: A New Legacy.” The two people who come up with the best idea will see their game brought to life and put on XBox Game Pass in June, among other prizes. James and Bugs Bunny teased the contest on Instagram.

Who will LeBron James face off against in new “Space Jam?”

While that’s the first plot summary to be released about the new “Space Jam,” other tidbits have leaked in the lead up to the film’s release. James debuted the film’s name and logo on Instagram in April. In August, James showed off the new Tune Squad jerseys.

James won’t be the only basketball star to show up in the movie. He’ll be joined by NBA and WNBA stars, including Anthony Davis, Chiney Ogwumike, Nneka Ogwumike, Diana Taurasi and Klay Thompson, among others. Will any of those players join James? Or will they all be part of the rogue A.I. out to destroy the Tune Squad?

Curiously, there’s been no buzz on whether Michael Jordan will make an appearance in the film. Seeing Jordan and James team up would be a perfect way to tie the two movies together. Here’s hoping Jordan once again suits up with Bugs Bunny and crew in a cameo appearance.
