The $72 pre-destroyed T-shirt that celebs love
The ’90s were all about big logo tees and distressed apparel, like hole-filled jeans and T-shirts with loose, hanging threads. Now, more than 20 years later, the ’90s pre-destroyed trend is back, thanks in part to celebrities like Ashley Graham, Gisele Bündchen, Zoe Saldana, and others stepping out in the Harlow Destroyed BFF Tee.
It comes from fashion brand n:Philanthrophy, which specializes in providing on-trend basics that are a bit atypical — such as tees featuring hand-distressed elements like a cutout around the collar (as with the Harlow) or fleece trousers and dresses with lace-up detailing along the side seams and chest area.
The Harlow comes in four colors — black, white, heather gray, and dark brown — and retails for $72.
Of course, if you want an authentic “distressed” T-shirt, you could easily opt for the budget-friendly version, which involves your taking a pair of scissors to a pack of Hanes from Walmart. (But just FYI — n:Philanthropy donates 10 percent of its net proceeds to pediatric cancer research and animal welfare causes through its partnerships with the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and ASPCA.)
