Adele Dresses Just Like the Duchess for Her BBC Special
If you’re going to stay out of the spotlight for a few years and deprive the world of wonderful music, your comeback better be so major that it drops people to their knees, rips hearts out, incites cathartic pillow screams, shower cries, and regrettable drunk texts. Well, Adele did just that with her new single “Hello,” the lyrics of the ballad just as powerful as her soulful voice.
To make her return to the spotlight, the singer’s making a string of carefully selected public appearances in the United Kingdom and United States, one of the first being on BBC’s Graham Norton Show where she’ll not only deliver her first-ever live TV performance, but sit down with the talk show host as well and open up about motherhood, 25, her third forthcoming studio album, and her hiatus. "It was that thing of, do I or don’t I want to go back to my music,” she said in the interview, which will air on November 20, the same day her new music debuts. “Obviously I do, and I just wanted to make sure that everything was in place for me to do it so I could do it properly. I can’t do anything else, this is all that I like doing.“
But because reading her Rolling Stone cover story over and over again will eventually fray the pages and replaying the record breaking music video for “Hello” might alert YouTube to this stalker behavior and cut you off, there’s a preview of Adele at the BBC to hold fans over until the special comes out. In it, not only does she belt out her hit single beautifully, but she looks it as well.

Wearing a forest-green calf-length dress, Adele (a one-name wonder but whose full name is Adele Laurie Blue Adkins) shines. The piece, from every Brit’s favorite designer Jenny Packham, is covered in silver beads, sequins, and crystals, arranged in a leaf-like motif. From the Duchess-loving label’s Fall 2015 collection, a floor-length gown version is available for $5,765.
Sure, the Kate Middleton effect is strong, but she’s never broken the 1 million download mark in just a week.
