All Bella Hadid Wants For Fashion Week is a Pair of Old-School Jordans

New York Fashion Week kicked off Thursday night in the right way — at the Bergdorf Goodman men’s store for the launch of the new NikeLab space. There, we caught up with superstar Bella Hadid – we upgraded her from supermodel to superstar after she told us she’d just worked several 13-hour days in a row, then flew to Los Angeles yesterday morning, walked the Tommy X Gigi show, then flew straight back to New York afterwards for a shoot today!

Dressed head to toe in white, Hadid wore a Nike crop top, sweat pants, a pair of the new NikeLab Dunk Lux Chukka x RT, and an oversized furry coat accessorized with a Christian Dior choker. Despite the recent long days, the always-luminous Hadid looked like she just came back from a 10-day tropical break, fresh and ready to tackle fashion week. Read on as we catch up on sneakers, ramen noodles, and what she’d never wear to a fashion party.

Yahoo Style: Since we’re in a fancy department store on Fifth Avenue talking sneakers, let’s talk high/low. For these three things, what would you spend lots of money on, and what would you spend less on — moisturizers, sneakers, and ramen noodles!

Bella Hadid: “I would go high and low on moisturizers – if the moisturizer is good on your skin and does not dry your face then it doesn’t matter how expensive or cheap it is. For sneakers, I would go high because you have to go expensive — a good sneaker is worth it! For ramen, I feel like low because the best ramen are the local, hole in the wall places!”

YS: These days, it seems like sneakers are acceptable almost everywhere. Is there anywhere you wouldn’t wear sneakers to?

BH: “I have probably worn sneakers every day of my life and everywhere. I’ve worn them with long evening gowns and everything else I own. I probably wouldn’t wear sneakers to a fashion event, I don’t know, maybe it’s not the right thing to do.”

YS: Would you wear sneakers with a couture gown?

BH: “You know what, maybe…probably, why not?!”

YS: And what couture gown would you wear with sneakers?

BH: “Maybe a Givenchy Couture gown with a pair of Converse or Nike — Done!”

YS: Do you have a favorite vintage sneaker style?

BH: “I don’t have these and I really need to invest in a pair, but I would love a pair of the old-school Jordans. I have not bought myself a pair yet but they are on my list!” [Note to Nike, a pair in Bella’s size please!]

YS: What are your plans for the rest of the week?

BH: “I have a fitting straight after this and I actually woke up a few days ago and thought to myself, I just want to work out! I would love to go to the gym and get a work out in but I won’t have the time! But to be honest, I feel so lucky to be able to do this job, I am exhausted but at the end of the month, I will feel so great about having done it! And I get to hang out with my sister along the way!”
