While we touched upon this in our daily fashion crib sheet, Joseph Altuzarra's new “Notch” bag really requires its own proper introduction. This is the designer's first foray into the handbag market, and I must say that this inaugural offering is pretty on point. The saddle shape, thickly braided strap, and long fringe detail make it a winner. I also love that there is no overt branding so you won’t feel like you’re wearing a sandwich board. Last night at Spring Studios, the “Notch” was shown in a variety of colors including the bordeaux shade that you see here as well as bright red, tobacco, and blue crocodile for the super luxury consumer. The bag is definitely the biggest splash of the season so far in terms of accessories. We imagine that come this time next year, nearly every editor will be returning to Spring Studios with one of these babies on their arm to see the designer’s Fall 2016 show.
